WASHINGTON, July 22 A U.S. senator said Sunday he 1s working on a censure resolution against President George Bush, saying the administration has "assaulted the Constitution."
Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., said on NBC's "Meet The Press" that his resolution, to be introduced shortly, will address two areas: the administration's run-up to the war in Iraq and its "outrageous attack on the rule of law" regarding its surveillance program and "their attitude about torture."
"This administration has assaulted the Constitution," Feingold said. "We need to have on the historical record some kind of indication that was has happened here is."
Feingold says a censure resolution is a moderate course. It wouldn't tie up the chambers with an impeachment, but would ensure a historical record is available, he said.
The resolution hasn't been drafted, Feingold said, adding he's spoken with Senate leadership. Regarding whether any Republicans would support the resolution, he said, "I think this might be an opportunity for some Republicans who may be uncomfortable with taking steps such as impeachment to say, you know, somehow we have to reflect the fact that so much of this has gone wrong." Impeachment may be the only thing that can stop Bush and Cheney from attacking Iran, plunging the entire Middle East into war, potentially triggering World War III, and destroying our democratic republic in the process as Bush uses his latest presidential directive and the repeal of posse comitatus to impose martial law.
Dennis Kucinich has had the guts to draft articles of impeachment against Cheney. Feingold should be doing the same thing in the Senate. Anything less amounts to mere political posturing.

I wish that I could applaud Feingold's effort and be optimistic about taking down Cheney/Bush, but I think that the national experience since the 2006 elections proves beyond doubt that this cabal has taken absolute control of the nation. Their control of the Supreme Court and federal judiciary proves that the checks and balances we believed we lived under have been nullified, that we are now subject to the rule of a de facto dictatorship under the whip of Dick Cheney. Any who doubt this will do well to pay close attention to the events of the sixteen months.

Grow some balls.
A resolution like this is like telling Hitler to play nice or you'll send him to his room. Yeah, Bush will have a great laugh at this bunch of wimps.
COMMON SENSE SAYS ...
#1 VOTE CONTEMPT of Congress and challenge the absurd notion that Bush is GOD
#2 IMPEACH CHENEY - It worked with Spiro, the last thing we need is to replace Bush with Cheney.
#3 IMPEACH BUSH - If we can't contain his ego and act like a reasonable man who represents all the people, we can't afford to let it go unpunished.
#4 RESTITUTION - Bush-Cheney's lies, knowing negligence and gross and wanton misrepresentations have cost American's trillions, thousands of valiant soldiers lives and other damages that are easily ascertainable. Taking their wealth will hurt them more than anything else we can do and set a precedent that insures future leaders will not play fast and loose with the facts.

It's about time someone stepped up to the plate to censure the president. Let this be just the beginning. Unlike George W., some folks still believe in the rule of law......... for all.
