Nuerburg, Germany - Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen registered the quickest time in the second free practice session Friday ahead of Sunday's European Formula One Grand Prix. The Finn clocked a time of 1 minute 33.339 seconds, beating Lewis Hamilton in a McLaren-Mercedes by 0.139 seconds
However, championship leader Hamilton was faster than Raikkonen in the first practice session with a time of 1:32.515 minutes for the 5.148-kilometre Nuerburgring circuit.
Defending champion Fernando Alonso in the second McLaren was third fastest in the morning session while Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari was third in second practice.
McLaren lead Ferrari in the constructors' standings by 128 to 104 points after nine of 17 races.
In the drivers' championship, Hamilton and Alonso reign supreme with 70 and 58 points, respectively. Raikkonen has 52, one point ahead of Massa.
