LOS ANGELES, July 19 ABC is ready to try out on its American audience a new dance routine featuring "Dancing with the Stars" judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

The project is based on the BBC's recently launched "Dance X," a competition to find members of a musical troupe made up of people who can dance and sing, Variety reported Thursday.

Unlike "Dancing with the Stars," the new show would feature an assortment of dance styles, from break-dancing to disco. Tonioli and Inaba, instead of acting as judges, will be coach-choreographers on "Dance X."

After about a week of auditions, Tonioli and Inaba will select members for their own dance teams and work with them to learn a new routine each week.

Viewers will choose between Inaba's and Tonioli's teams. The losing coach will have to eliminate a member of his or her troupe each week.

The dance numbers are expected to be large productions, similar to those in Disney's "High School Musical."

No air date has been set.
