LOS ANGELES, July 19 Women with expensive tastes can go to a Los Angeles-based Web site to find sugar daddies to fulfill their dreams.
Brandon Wade, founder of Seekingarrangement.com, told the Toronto Globe and Mail that he is promoting a type of relationship with a rich history going back to the courtesans of classical Greece and the geishas of Japan. He said he doesn't believe it is the equivalent of prostitution.
"In prostitution, you exchange money for sex," he told the newspaper. "In an arrangement, sex is not always involved or does not come into play until much later. This involves a component of romancing."
In fact, Wade's sister has taken advantage of his service, meeting two men through the site, the Globe and Mail said. He said she now gets $4,000 a month from a man she meets for dinner once or twice a week.
"I, um, kind of, uh, was surprised at first. But no, I'm not," he said in the Globe and Mail article. "She tells me she's never had sex with him."
The site charges would-be sugar daddies to post profiles but not those who want to be sugar babies, the newspaper reported. In April, Wade announced a new site, Seekingmillionaire.com.
