WESTFIELD, N.Y., July 17 A Westfield, N.Y., man has pleaded innocent to closing his girlfriend's 6-year-old son in a clothes dryer as a punishment.
Jared Monaco, who claims the boy was in the dryer for only a few seconds, pleaded innocent Monday in Town Chautauqua Court, WKBW-TV, Buffalo, N.Y. reported Tuesday.
Police said the dryer was not turned on and the boy was not injured. However, the child claims he was in the appliance for much longer than a few seconds.
Monaco's attorney said his client also claims he is innocent of beating the 6-year-old with a belt.
