LOS ANGELES - Daniel Craig has been pronounced as the best-dressed man by Esquire magazine. Craig, the new James Bond, won the magazine's approval in its third annual "sartorial ranking."
"Would we have named him the best dressed man in the world if he weren't the new James Bond?" the magazine asks of the 37-year-old actor. It adds that maybe not. "But playing the best-dressed protagonist in the history of film is a hell of a promotion. It tends to elevate one's game." Musician John Legend comes in at number two, followed by Terrence Howard. "Brokeback Mountain" protagonist Jake Gyllenhaal comes in at number four. The magazine paid him the ultimate compliment by saying; "The man can pull off a tux better than George Clooney."
Others in the top 10 included Nick Cave, Common, Clive Owen, Pharrell Williams, Ioan Gruffudd and the news anchor Brian Williams. Former German soccer coach Juergen Klinsmann made it to the 20th spot. Other notable mentions include Barack Obama, the Senator and Tony Parker, who was rated as "the second best-dressed man in the NBA " He was behind Dwyane Wade, who at number 13 was the best-dressed Basketball player.
Saddam Hussein was voted the best-dressed defendant, while Jennifer Aniston was the Accessory of the Year.
Sean Preston Federline, the tiny tot of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline had the dubious distinction of being the Worst Dressed Man In The World. The complete list is available in the September issue of Esquire magazine.
