GLASGOW, Scotland, June 30 A flaming sport utility vehicle plowed into the terminal at the Glasgow, Scotland Airport and exploded Saturday.
CNN said some injuries were reported while the driver was grabbed by police as he tried to flee.
The bizarre incident comes a day after two cars rigged with gasoline explosives were disarmed in London in what terrorism experts are certain was an al-Qaida swipe at the new British prime minister.
Details from Scotland were sketchy; however, CNN said it appeared the explosion was probably the vehicle's gas tank rather than a bomb.
Although the incident was not immediately branded a terrorism incident, witnesses said the SUV appeared to be heading toward the terminal at full speed. It was not known why the vehicle was on fire.
Flights operations at Glasgow Airport were suspended and the terminal was evacuated.
