TOKYO, June 24 Japan's top medical groups say children under the age of 15 should receive blood transfusions even if their parents are Jehovah's Witnesses.A committee representing the five medical societies created a draft guideline that would supersede a parent's religious beliefs to ensure a child undergoing surgery receives any needed blood transfusions, the Yomiuri Shimbun said Sunday. The committee found it would be an abuse of parental rights to allow Jehovah's Witnesses to make such crucial decisions for their children. Before the guideline is finalized, the committee will meet with representatives from the religious group and several bioethicists later this year. The committee's ruling added to a previous guideline that mandated such potentially life-saving procedures to any patients under the age of 12.The newspaper said under the new guideline, patients between the ages of 15 and 17 could avoid a blood transfusion if they and their parents reject the procedure.Copyright 2007 by UPI

Jehovah Witness Blood Transfusion

If a JW takes 'whole-blood' or autologous (use your own stored blood) you will be shunned by your family and friends. The Watchtower organization is in control of your life.
I don't want someone else's blood in me anymore that I would want their other body parts heart, kidney, liver unless I needed a lifesaving transplant so goes the same with EMERGENCY blood transfusions.
Don't forget the Watchtower ALLOWS organ transplants and you can get get all the same blood borne diseases Aids, hepatitis from someone else's organs same as you can get from blood.
Know this, the reason that JW refuse blood is because of their spin on the 3000 year old Biblical old testament, modern medicine will eventually make blood donations and transfusions a thing of the past. When this technology happens it won't vindicate the Jehovah's Witnesses and all the deaths that have occured so far.
The Watchtower's rules against blood transfusions will eventually be abolished (very gradually to reduce wrongful death lawsuit liability) even now most of the blood 'components' are allowed.
In 20 years there will be artificial blood and the Red Cross will go on with other noble deeds.

Deadly Dogma
The real deal on why Jehovah's Witnesses refuse blood transfusions.
Jehovah's Witnesses have a non negotiable doctrine of their belief system to reject blood products.
The origin of this dogma comes from their founding father Joseph Rutherford in the early 20th century. The consumption (eating) of blood was strictly forbidden under old testament kosher law.
The Watchtower leadership of Jehovah's Witnesses saw fit to extend this prohibition over to their belief system.
They thought that the "end of the world" was coming back then (ca.1940) so there would never be much causality.
It is well into the 21st century, with the "end of the world" on hold, the Watchtower leaders have blood on their hands, with the deaths of innocent minor children.
Many children have died since rejecting life saving blood transfusions. Why do they maintain adherence to this archaic creed at all cost?
Answer:The man-made Watchtower cult is run by lawyers who know they would be sued out of existence for wrongful death suits,if they dared to outright repeal the bogus no blood ruling now.
UPDATE:The absurdity of the Watchtower rulings now allow any of the COMPONENTS of blood to be transfused, but not whole blood, and yet people are dying and lives and families are being ruined over a few old men who are always changing their minds on this matter.

(Jehovah's Witnesses do use many products that are derived from blood banks (so called blood 'fractions') but they themselves won't donate a drop)

The Watchtower cares more about lawsuits than life.
