The string of alleged assaults by supermodel Naomi Campbell on her maids seems endless, with the first one in 1998, then 2000 then 2003, 2004 and the most recent one was filed yesterday. Gaby Gibson from Queens reported that Campbell allegedly hit her on the head with a mobile phone when she was unable to find a pair of black designer jeans.
The single page charge-sheet includes accusations of 'employment discrimination', 'civil assault and battery' and 'personal injuries', among others . Gibson claims that Campbell committed the injuries to 'teach her a lesson'. Although she has not specified the compensation she expects, Gibson demanded 'actual, compensatory and punitive' damages.
This charge-sheet comes at the eve of Naomi Campbell's appearance in The Manhattan Criminal Court for previously striking former maid Ana Scolavino with a cell phone and accusing her of stealing a pair if jeans which Campbell couldn't find.
Campbell had then emphasized that the allegations were untrue and the maid had fabricated the incident because she was dismissed. Scolavino however had to get a few stitches done and finally Campbell agreed to have assaulted her. She had paid an undisclosed amount as damages and was ordered to undertake anger management sessions.
If proven guilty in this case too, Naomi Campbell might have to face up to seven years in prison and even deportation back to the United Kingdom. Her solicitor David Breitbart said that he is trying to delay the hearing of the present case by a few days. Campbell's spokeswoman refused to comment while Gibson chose not to discuss the issue as advised by her lawyer.
