Nicole Kidman, a United Nations Development Fund for women goodwill ambassador and Oscar winning actress for 'The Hours' (2002) will tie the knot in Sidney this week with Grammy winner fiancé, Keith Urban.
They flew down to Australia, driving the Australian media to a frenzy, as they desire a traditional Catholic wedding, surrounded by close friends and family. The couple, who met over a year back in New York at a ceremony that the Australian government had hosted in their honor, are speculated to marry on the coning Sunday, the 25th of June.
The Mary MacKillop Chapel at North Sidney a likely venue as close family friend Father Paul Coleman is chaplain there and he has been asked to preside over the ceremony. However, as Coleman states, the church is rather small and no wedding has been booked, so the preferred venue is probably the other chapel – Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel which is a much larger one with gothic resemblances, overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Manly.
Selected guests from Nashville, where Nicole and Urban are based, from Queensland, since Urban grew up there and from Hollywood have been asked to keep themselves free for the coming week. Isabelle and Connor, Nicole's adopted children with Tom Cruise, who she was married to for ten years until 2000, will be flown to Australia later this week. The guest list also includes director Baz Luhrmann, actors Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.
The couple is believed to have made personal phone invites for them along with instructions such as the black tie dress code. In an attempt to maintain privacy and security, even the guests will receive exact information regarding the venue only sometime beforehand and those from Sydney will be escorted in a fleet of limousines.
Although the tabloids are suggesting that Nicole will wear Balenciaga for her much awaited traditional ceremony, designers have divulged information that some Australian-styled gowns have been reserved, just in case.
Nicole's parents Anthony and Janelle were thrilled after meeting her at the Darling Point mansion which she had bought with Cruise and sister Antonia will be hosting the hens night party. She is to be matron of honor for the ceremony while Shane, Urban's brother will be best man.
