MIDDELKERKE, Belgium, June 10 A British tour bus slammed into a house in Middelkerke, Belgium, seriously injuring four people and leaving several others with minor injuries.

Belgian police said the passengers who were seriously injured, including three British tourists, were taken to hospitals in Bruges, Veurne and Ostend, Belgium, the BBC reported Sunday.

The passengers with less serious injuries were taken to Ostend, and those who were not injured have been assisted by the Red Cross at a fire station in Middelkerke.

The tour bus, which belongs to Leger Holidays, based in Rotherham, reportedly hit the house after avoiding a collision with a car.

"The car came from a side street and the driver of the coach saw the car and tried to avoid a collision but came into contact with the house because there was no escape for him possible," said Belgian police spokesman Roy Van De Gunst.
