T-Mobilebrings new BlackBerry smart phone onto the marketBonn- T-Mobile has brought a new smart phone onto the market. The BlackBerry Curve doesn't just make phone calls; it also provides web surfing on the go and push e-mail. EDGE technology allows for data transfer at speeds of up to four times that of ISDN, reports RIM, the phone's maker. The device is nevertheless relatively small and light, houses a 2 megapixel camera and is controlled via a trackball. It will be available for contract customers starting in June for 99 dollars, or for about 400 dollars without contract. ----

XpertVision bringing DirectX 10 graphics card with new ATI chip

Moenchengladbach- Game fans can look forward to the XpertVision's graphics card soon to hit the market with a new chip from ATI. The XpertVision HD 2900XT is designed for the DirectX 10 graphic interface that was introduced with Windows Vista, offering more visual effects and especially realistic depictions. The graphic chip's 512 megabyte of memory provides 1.650 gigahertz of processing power, with processor speed of 740 megahertz. The graphics card is also designed to work with HDCP copy protection, meaning that it can handle both the HD DVD and Blu-ray formats. ----

New Skype version available for Mac users

Munich- A new version of the Skype software has been released for Mac users. It provides Mac users with functions that were previously available only to Windows users of the communication tool. That includes a forwarding function through which ongoing conversations can be patched to other Skype members on the contact list. The new version can also function as an answering machine and shows when contacts are talking in a chat room. ---

Wacom releases new table input device

Krefeld- Wacom has released a new tablet input device. The bamboo can be attached to a PC to allow for text marking or handwritten entry of notes, the Krefeld-based company is reporting. Users can also employ special stylus movements or pre-set keys combinations to control the software. The tablet is available in the A6 wide format for PCs and Mac computers. It costs 99 dollars.
