LOS ANGELES - “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria has emerged on top of Maxim's annual “Hot 100” list for the second successive year. The "Hot 100" list tracks and rates the most successful women in n film, TV, music, sports and fashion.
The 31-year-old Longoria said she was shocked to have hit the top once again, "I was actually really shocked last year when I made the list. So 91 to No. 1 was a big jump, and then to get it a second time in a row — I just couldn't believe it,” she said Friday.
“I was like, 'Surely there are more beautiful women in the world.' I can name 10," She was referring to the fact that in the 2004 list, she was placed on the 91 spot. Her boyfriend, San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker is apparently pleased with all this attention, “Oh, he's very proud,” Longoria said. “He thinks he's with a beautiful girl every day, so for him, it's, you know, someone else solidifying what he already thinks.”
Maxim said that it was for the first time that any woman has had the honor of a back-to-back first spot. The complete list will be featured in the magazine, which hits stands on Thursday. The magazine said that all women featured in the list had their own special qualities plus “a tremendous amount of buzz surrounding them, undeniable beauty and a promise of greater things to come.”
Jessica Alba was ranked number 2, followed by Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Scarlett Johansson, Cameron Diaz, Kate Bosworth, Keira Knightley and singer-actress Christina Milian.
Maxim Editor in Chief Ed Needham said in a statement that the list was inclusive of looks as well as achievements, “The Maxim Hot 100 continues to get hotter, and it is all because of girls like Eva Longoria, who always looks sensational and continues to reach new heights in her career,” he added.
