LOS ANGELES - Adam Sandler who shot to fame in the comedy classic 'Happy Gilmore' in 1996 and who starred in 'The Wedding Singer' has had a baby girl, well his wife has. A posting on Sandler's official website says, ''Sandler had a kid! Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!! [Sandler's] still a moron and that's all that counts.''
There were no other details offered on the website. Adam Sandler's wife, the 31-year-old Jackie Sandler gave birth at Beverly Hills' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Saturday, according to the People magazine. Sandler's publicist Cindy Guagenti did not confirm the report and only referred users to the actor's Web site, www.adamsandler.com. "All the info we are releasing is on adamsandler.com," she said.
The 39-year-old Sandler, who has films like 'Happy Gilmore', and 'Anger Management' to his credit, married Jackie after she converted to Judaism in June 2003. Jackie is a model and actress and appeared in 'Big Daddy'.
The pair has been together for seven years and had got married in a classic Jewish ceremony in which Sandler wore a tux and yarmulke. His dog Meatball also wore the same garb and had preceded Jackie down the aisle with the bride's wedding band on his back. Sandler's next movie "Click," is slated for release in the summer.
