Wondering what the new James Bond's new set of wheels will look like? Wonder no more. It's the Aston Martin DBS, based on DB9 and DBR9 race cars.
The cross between the 6.0-liter V12 road car and the DBR9 race car will be seen in the latest flick
Casino Royale. “This car encapsulates a link between our elegant DB9 road car and the powerful DBR9 race car. While hinting at our future design direction, the DBS also has very clear links with our heritage – it is instantly recognizable as an Aston Martin,” said Aston Martin's design director Marek Reichman.
The car also sports 10-spoke 20 inches alloy wheels. Greater details, however, have been withheld. After all, the car belongs to the superspy from Her Majesty's Secret Service. But we can be sure this one, like all previous Bond cars, will have a number of hi-tech gizmos, from ejector seats to vanishing buttons to missile launchers, if only in the film.
The association of Aston Martin cars with James Bond is a long one, after the DB5 debuted in
Goldfinger in 1964. “The DBS continues our proud and lengthy association with James Bond. The DBS is not of the understated elegance of a DB9, nor the youthful agility of the V8 Vantage. It is explosive power in a black tie and has its own unique character which will equal that of James Bond,” said Dr Ulrich Bez, chief executive of Aston Martin.
Casino Royale, which has the first ever blond Bond in Daniel Craig, would be released on November 17.
