ANCHORAGE, Alaska, May 18 Activists in Alaska are using the poor health of the state's sole elephant to push the zoo keeping it to relocate the pachyderm to a warmer climate.Regional activists are using the undiagnosed sickness to highlight the animal's need for a new home, the Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News said Friday.A group calling itself Friends of Maggie is set to demonstrate to get the message across.Alaskan Zoo officials are trying to determine what is ailing Maggie and to minimize the elephant's discomfort. As rounds of blood tests continue, workers at the zoo have placed Maggie in a sling to keep her upright. Recently the 8,000-pound animal had two incidents where she lay down and later could not get back up, the Daily News said.Copyright 2007 by UPI
