Aussies ban smoking in autos

The state government of South Australia has begun a campaign to promote its new law banning smoking in automobiles carrying children.

ADELAIDE, Australia, May 13 The state government of South Australia has begun a campaign to promote its new law banning smoking in automobiles carrying children.

The law, which applies to motorists with children age under 16 as passengers, comes into effect May 31.

South Australia is the first Australian state to introduce such a ban, which provides for fines for offenders of between $60-$165.
