SHANGHAI, China, April 15 Markus Brier posted his second consecutive four-under-par 67 and pulled away Sunday to win the Volvo China Open by five strokes.Brier finished at 10-under 274 to collect his second European Tour victory. Scott Hend, Graeme McDowell and Andrew McLardy tied for second at five-under 279.Brier turned in a solid round Sunday, getting birdies on Nos. 2 and 3. He bogeyed No. 4 but closed the front side with birdies on 8 and 9. He carded eight consecutive pars before closing the round with a 5-foot birdie putt on No. 18.Hend, who was one stroke back of Brier after three rounds, saw his chances evaporate with back-to-back bogeys on 10 and 11. He also bogeyed 17 to fall five strokes behind going into the last hole.The round of the day belonged to Steve Jeppesen, who had a course-record eight-under 63. That jumped him from 60th place after the third round to 14th at one-over 285 for the tournament.Copyright 2007 by UPI
