MIDDLE RIVER, Md., April 15 A toddler suffered serious chemical burns from sliding on playground equipment vandals had coated with a drain cleaner in Middle River, Md."What kind of sick joke is that?," Carol Duschl, whose 2-year-old son, Peyton, was burned Saturday at the Villa Elementary School playground, asked WMAR-TV, Baltimore. Peyton was scheduled for surgery Sunday at Johns Hopkins Hospital and could be hospitalized for several weeks, the TV news reported.The drain cleaner, with a high concentration of sulfuric acid, was stolen from a locked storage facility at the school and was poured all over the school's playground equipment, police said.Copyright 2007 by UPI
