LONDON: Some 200 teenagers, invited to a party by a girl at her family home through a notification on social networking site MySpace on Easter Monday, wrecked her home causing damages worth 20,000 pounds and inconveniencing neighbors.

The 17-year-old girl, a sixth former, had put up an advertisement on MySpace for her Skins-themed party, prompted by a British television serial on promiscuous teenagers into drugs and drinks, while her parents were away on a holiday. She had expected some 30 to 40 people, but 200 teens invaded the house at Woodstone Village, in Durham, northern England, some of them even from faraway places like London, equipped with cases and cases of drinks.

When her parents returned the next day, the whole house was in total disarray, with bucketfuls of vomit, empty liquor bottles and cigarette butts and extensive damages to furniture and fittings.

According to reports, worried neighbors had called the police as the drunken youths created havoc in the area through the Monday-Tuesday night. The Durham police are now investigating the entire incident.

The participants in the party are said to have urinated all over the house, including on a wedding dress and clothes, stolen jewelry and cash and damaged expensive carpets with cigarette butts.

The girl's mother described it as worse than burglary. She recounted that she had told her daughter not to have any kids at home or drink in the house as she and her husband were away. The family had to move out of the house handing it over to professional cleaners, who will have a tough time bringing back order.

The advertisement the girl had put up on MySpace reportedly read, "Let's trash the average family-sized house disco party." She had, however, denied posting such a message.

According to residents, the police did not intercept and break the party or make arrests even after neighbors complained about the ruckus. Instead, they got the sound turned down and stayed in the area, the local residents alleged.
