DALLAS, April 10 The promise of the all-star heavy metal band Hellyeah was enough to lure ex-Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul back into the band world.

Though he remained active with his own label, Big Vin Records, and projects such as "Rebel Meets Rebel," Paul hasn ' t been in a proper band since his brother, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, was shot on stage by a fan in December 2004 in Columbus, Ohio. "I was like, 'Man, I'm not sure if I'm ready to do this ...,'" said Paul. "But persistence pays off. They kept calling and finally one night they got me when I ' d been drinking and listening to music. And I said, ' This sounds like a great idea. ' "The next day I talked to everybody and loved everybody's attitude and said ... 'I'm in!'" Hellyeah also features members of the bands Mudvayne and Nothingface. The group's self-titled debut album has just been released and it will be touring most of the year, including a stint on Korn's Family Values Tour.
