26-year-old American pop star singer Pink has tied the knot with her 30-year-old motocross racer boyfriend Carey Hart in a Costa Rica ceremony that was attended by 100 guests, including prominent celebs such as Michael Jackson's ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley.
The couple met in 2001 at the X-Games in Las Vegas and have been together ever since. They married on a beach. “We just love the beach, so we knew we wanted it to be at the beach. We wanted it very fun and non-traditional. We're spiritual, but we're not religious. It was about being with our closest friends and family and having a very fun and loose party,” Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, said.
The two got engaged last year, after surviving a breakup scare in 2003, when Pink held up a sign asking Hart if he would marry her when he was racing at Mammoth Lakes, California. Hart, who withdrew from the race to say yes to the pop singer, said, “I knew within the first few weeks after meeting her that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life.” This is the first marriage for both the celebrities.
According to Hart, the two share a bond because of their humility. “I ride dirt bikes, she sings; but I'm still the same white-trash kid, and she's the same girl from Philly,” he had earlier said about their closeness.
Pink, who debuted in 2000 with
Can't Take Me Home, hit the big league in 2001, when her cover version of
Lady Marmalade with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya won a Grammy in 2001. Since then, several of her tracks have made it to the US Top 100 list. She is also starring in
Catacombs, a horror flick directed by Tomm Coker and David Elliot, due for release in 2006.
Husband Hart would be seen on the screen in the fifth season of the reality show
The Surreal Life, which puts celebrities who were sought after once upon a time in a Los Angeles mansion and tracks their day-to-day lives with each other.
