I doubt very much that the bullying and fights are because of the 'prettiness' polish girls, I believe it is because they are Polish. Generally tension is created between two groups of people, when one group moves into the others country, and any excuse will be used to make a fight.
People who have recently moved to another country will usually have to put up with being treated as outsiders; it happens everywhere in the world.
But I suppose a fight over Magda Kwiatkowska could happen if she looked like Sienna Miller.

lots of people get bullied it would happen to anybody pretty starting a new school in 'Londons Action District' and not all polish girls are pretty like all english girls arnt ugly.

Polish women are not pretty - they have real expressionless faces and always look slightly cheap for some reason.

Let them all "go home" - its called home for a reason - its where you belong. why do people put themselves through this...

Hang on a minute; I have to say that the majority of these posts are complete pants. Yes, I am a British female but as a make up artist, I can appreciate beauty in its very many forms. Sure some Eastern European girls can be beautiful as can Southern, Western and northern European girls! Swedish girls can be stunning, Spanish/Latin are very exotic and central Europe also has some stunners. In face, there are beauty woman all over the world, from India to Alaska. As a woman, I think we are pretty special wherever we come from.
I think this story has been completely blown out of proportion to make British girls look inferior to their Polish counterparts. When in truth, I believe this would be more about racism than beauty; since the UK has seen a huge rise in Polish workers and it has heightened great tension between the two nationalities over employment, etc. In any high school you will always witness bitchiness between girls, especially with regards to jealousy. This poor girl was the result of such a thing. I witnessed it many times in my teens and there was not a Polish girl in sight! We had many very pretty girls at my school alone and they went through hell at times as well. Any girl that grabs the attention of another girl's 'crush' will get the claws in her direction; an unpleasant fact whatever your nationality. As for generalising a nation's attractiveness, well that is a bit stupid. I have seen just as many attractive Polish girls as I have British, etc. Both have just as many unattractive females as well. You must be utterly blind if you think every Polish girl is attractive as I've seen a very high proportion who look like the cheap, tacky dial-up phone models (that last word is debatable) you see on late night TV; either that or toilet cleaner look-a-likes! They can also have a very cold and hard look to their features but then again, that is only my opinion. I think it depends on personal taste and a change to the 'norm'. For instance, a male family member visited us in London from South Africa and said he was completely blown away by all the very pretty London girls he had seen (he even thought our newsreaders were sexier than the S.A. ones they had). However, when another family member went to visit him in S.A., he said the reverse: that the S.A. girls were gorgeous. Some of my male friends prefer French girls, some like Italians. As a British female I love the sexier olive skinned look (which is that of my Portuguese decent partner). He likes the opposite like that of my complexion, which is pale and he considers it to look pure and beautiful. See, it all depends on what you take for granted and what you prefer. I had a group of American guys stop me when I was out clubbing in London to have pictures taken with me and they were full of compliments. As flattering as it was I do not think that I am more attractive than an American girl because of it, they were just young men having fun. I think the ratio of beauty V. ugly evens itself out amongst all nationalities if we are completely honest; we are just being pathetically arrogant towards each other otherwise. I have to say though, for all you men/boys making us Brit girls feel awful/insecure about our looks it may be worth bearing in mind that we have some of the most diverse colourings (from pale red-heads to slightly olive skinned brunettes to English rose blondes), intelligent, beautiful, elegant and photographed women in the world: Princess Diana, (when youthful & voted most beautiful woman in the world)Elizabeth Taylor, Kate Beckinsale, Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Moss, Sierra Miller, Keira Knightly, Cheryl Cole, Kelley Brooke (to name but a few). We have countless other models, celebs and everyday passing beauties to be found as well. Some of our men aren't too bad either, David Beckham and Jude Law spring immediately to mind. The most photographed Polish person I can think of is a male and he was Pope John Paul II... that speaks volumes. Case closed boys. Grow up and get yourself a real woman, whatever her nationality. Hopefully not just one with a pretty face but one with brains, a personality and the sense of humour to deal with your obvious shallowness & short-sightedness.

It is amusing to read of British students going girl crazy over Polish woman imagine if they were Italian woman from Italy the Italian girls are sexy well dressed in today's fashion and have the most class and if you find the right one that is still brought up from the old values she will cook,clean and respect you and hopefully the man would do the same for her.

Seriously, if goodlooking polish girls do not like being in the UK then they should head to the US. I am all for giving US citizenship to hot looking Europe women...not the uglies, they can stay in the UK where it seems like they have been collecting there.

Based on personal experience as a Brit with a foreign wife (not Polish, but whatever), I can safely say that I'm not at all surprised. Nasty English schoolgirls with hangups grow up into nasty adults, the only difference being that when they get older they simply blank out their "competitors" rather than beating them up.

The problem here is not that the Polish girls are too pretty on the outside.

The problem here is the British girls are too ugly on the inside.

Maybe this girl has the attitude that she is prettier and that is where the problem is. Not the pretty face, but the ugly personality.

I was born/raised in Chicago, which (at the time) had the largest concentration of Polish people outside of Poland. So I've seen any number of Polish people. And I don't blame the guys for fighting over these girls; most young guys can't control their stupidity in the face of remarkable beauty. And young Polish women are in fact remarkably beautiful, amazingly beautiful, outrageously beautiful. In time, they seem to lose their beauty and join the babushka parade, and wear old drab dresses, and scratch themselves, and like that. But when young they'll take your breath away, you'll give your heart in an instant.

Why is this newsworthy?

There were fights over stupid stuff all the time when I was in school, but none of it ever made it into the local newspaper, let alone the syndicated news.

One of those irrational fears kids have is that their meaningless, embarrassing social blunders will make the news. Now, it's becoming a reality?

I'm annoyed that someone thought I should know abut this. Giving celebrities undue attention isn't enough anymore? We need to give it to histrionic, insecure school children, too?

the schoolboys should stop being so superficial, and appreciate their female british counterparts a little more. after all, every boy in the school can't date the hot swede. some of them have to date the british gals. if they're not nice to them, they're all going to end up dateless for life!

No surprises here: british women are quite possibly the ugliest in europe (long, horse faces, etc). Poland has been known for their pretty girls.

I don't think it happens all around the world. As someone who's lived in many parts of the world and London, I can tell you that the english are possibly the ugliest of the lot(although they are great on other levels)
