POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., March 26 Music icon Bob Dylan stepped back in time as he rehearsed songs from "Modern Times" in a one-time vaudeville theater in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Bardavon 1869 Opera House turned into a closed rehearsal stage for a week as Dylan and his band tuned up for a European tour set to begin Wednesday in Sweden, the Poughkeepsie Journal said Monday.Dylan and his band rehearsed about four hours a day, Bardavon Executive Director Chris Silva said, with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member entering the theater, heading right to the stage to rehearse and leaving as soon as the rehearsal was done."The main thing is, it appears as though, from my point of view, it feels like Bob has a new favorite theater," Silva said. "There's every indication that they will be back." Dylan's recent week of rehearsals was about a year after he spent a week at the Bardavon, writing and rehearsing songs for his recent album, "Modern Times." Silva said the same band backed Dylan during both trips to the Bardavon. "It was like I saw nine shows," said Silva, a longtime Dylan fan. "It was a blast." Copyright 2007 by UPI
