France opens its official UFO archives

Paris- France on Thursday became the first country to open its official archives on unidentified flying objects (UFO), said Jacques Patenet, the head of the UFO study group at the National Centre of Space Studies (CNES). "It's a world first," Patenet said. "It's true that in the United States you can ask for information on a case-by-case basis. But we have done the opposite by putting all the information at the disposition of the public." The archives are available at http://www.cnes-geipan.fr/geipan/ and currently contain 400 files, about one fourth of the approximately 1,600 UFO sightings reported in France since the 1950s. All of the files are scheduled to be online by the end of the year, Patenet said. "We are working on the principle that there is nothing we will not put online with one exception: protecting an individual's privacy," he noted. The files comprise principally witness statements taken by police officers, with personal data erased. Patenet cautioned that "ufologists will not find any scoops or unknown cases in this database."

I find these topics cool and scary at the same time.Just thinking about being the only lifeforms in space scares me ,so I think that there are other life forms.If you think about it people have seen siteings of ufo's throughout time.sitings have not just started now.They have been around for a very long time.Watch the history channel or other historical/scientific channels .They bring up many things that make alot of sense.For example buildings of ancient times look way more futuristic than buildings of now.I would think that if humans did create things like that in the past wouldnt the buildings of now look way more better ,not just tall rectangles and cubes.makes you think doesn't it? O.O.... We are NOT ALONE.

i believe in aliens also, and they are possibly watching us and they have to be thinking that they can't even get along with themselves(war in iraq, ethnic cleansing in darfur and other countries and even the senseless murders that occur in our cities everday) so how would they react to a superior being????????????

When my little boy asks me "Dad, where was I before I was born" I have no earthly answer... Maybe in his lifetime people will have more open minds and he will be encouraged to find an answer to the BIGGEST question for all of us....where did we come from ?

I believe there is other life in the universe. We would have to be small minded to think otherwise. I too believe in Sylvia Browne, I also read her book. She says there are aliens living among us now, we just have no idea. I wish the United States would stop covering up, and just tell us the truth. I think we can all handle it.

This is great that France has come public with the UFO'S sightings.People are ready to here he truth about aliens.The United States has been covering up sightings and unusal things that can't be explained for over 50 years.
We can't be alone in this universe.There are a billion galaxies with over a billion stars in each one.There is know why little earth is all alone with life on it.
