People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has found a new voice in Sir Paul McCartney's second wife Heather Mills McCartney. And bearing the brunt of the 37-year-old ex-model's anger is pop star Jennifer Lopez, whose love for fur is well known. The pop star also owns clothing company Sweetface that uses fur in its apparels.

“PETA has tried for years to educate her (Lopez) about fur, at first quietly and now like this. She keeps saying she wants to be educated. So the next stage is I'll find out where she lives and show up there. And I'll get a hold of her at her premieres. She needs to find some warmth inside her and penetrate that warmth in her heart,” Heather said on the sidelines of a protest march by PETA at the New York Sweetface office. Lopez has been ruffling the feathers of the anti-fur brigade ever since she appeared for the premiere of her film Maid In Manhattan wearing a £10,000 mink coat.

To bring the plight of animals to the public's attention, Heather wore a plasma TV airing the videos of animals being skinned alive in China. She and her group left the building only after the building security threatened to call the police.

During the scuffle, Heather's prosthetic leg came off and she was seen limping. The model lost had her leg in 1993 in an accident involving a police motorcyclist in London. “I saw her limp away from the offices as J Lo's men were still shouting at her to get out. They were even saying, 'Call the cops, call the cops',” media reports quoted a photographer as saying.

Heather was then given support by the photographer, identified as Richard Corkery, to go to a staircase where she could reattach her leg. “I saw her touch her knee and I could see she was in pain. She limped to the ladies room but it was locked. I found another door open. It led on to the stairwell. At least she could have a private moment, which is what she needed,” Corkery said.
The protest is the second one Heather has participated in this week. Earlier on Monday, the police evicted her from the New York office of fashion brand J Crew. There too, she wore a sandwich board that sported a plasma screen TV displaying video clippings of animals being skinned alive in China.

According to Heather, her animal rights activities have the full support of her husband, who accompanied her to PETA event of Sunday. “I talked to Paul today and he's very proud (of me). Buying anything with fur supports one of the most gruesome industries on the planet,” she said.

Heather Mills McCartney, rich ex-model and second wife of Paul McCartney, who is nearly twice her age, decided to cast moral stones at J.Lo., citing that the pop-star's legal right to own fur is unacceptable. "She needs to find some warmth inside her and penetrate that warmth in her heart," exclaimed McCartney, after promising to stalk the pop-star into submission.

During one incident indicating McCartney's intention to live up to her word, the ex-model donned a wordrobe which consisted of a plasma-screen television set playing a video of cruel animal skinning techniques. During a scuttle with security, the former model's prosthetic leg became dislodged. Because she is handicapped, it is recommended that we overlook the fact that she pushed her handicapped way onto private property and that the security team was only doing their job.

So far, she has yet to comment on the cruel techniques of cattle and poultry slaughter used countless times each day all over the world, including within the United States of America.

That particular incident was only the second of such protests during that week. Earlier that week, police had escorted Heather off of the premises of J.Lo.'s corporate office of her fashion brand after Heather had shown up donning the television screen outfit displaying the same video images.

Heather boasts having full support for her illegal protests by her dope smoking, LSD licking hippie husband, Paul McCartney. "I talked to Paul today and he's very proud (of me). Buying anything with fur supports one of the most gruesome industries on the planet," she said.

She has yet to be seen protesting at a local McDonald's.

J. Lo covers her fat ass with fur
By: Sonia , Mon, 19 Sep 2005 22:19:51 GMT

Those of you that defend J. Lo disgust me. Since when is it OK to kill animals for fashion? These animals are tortured, but it's ok because J. Lo has to cover up her fat ass? I think she has enough fat on her body to keep herself warm. She doesn't need to wear fur. What's worse is that she has added it to her clothing line and is now making money off of the torture of these animals. Why is PETA criticized for being passionate about saving animals? What's wrong with trying to prevent animal cruelty?

Heather Mills McCartney vs. Jennifer Lopez
By: Tashi , Sun, 18 Sep 2005 07:48:14 GMT

I was one of Heather's staunchest supporters during her trials and tribulations with the British tabloids but I have now lost all respect for her. I thought she was a kind, compassionate person but know I see that she is just as callous, crass, arrogant and self-centered as many of PETAs members. She isn't much different from the woman she is criticizing. JLo doesn't care about the feelings of animals and she doesn't care about the feelings of people. If she is stupid enough to actually show up at JLo's home I hope she is dealt with accordingly.

peta vs jennifer lopez
By: cyndee rivera , Sun, 18 Sep 2005 02:35:19 GMT

first of all, i have to say that peta is very low class when it comes to eduacting people. People don't listen to insults or crazy protests. Pink? she's a spokesperson. Anything that comes out of her mouth is profanity. I wonder if they criticize president bush for going to war to get his way because that is exactly what they are doing! And i love animals and would never buy any real fur but i am an educated college graduate who would never associate myself with people in PETA!

Jennifer Lopez's furs etc
By: Joseph Clark , Sat, 17 Sep 2005 19:15:57 GMT

I believe that Mrs Mcartney is actually being to kind to Lopez on this score. Lopez has a reputation as a stuck-up insentitive bitch for some years now. Also is it not a fact that the animals from which furs are made are supposed to be protected under the Endangered Speices Act?

J-Lo

I don't understand this woman - why does she say she "wants to be educated" about fur about a year AFTER her high end fashion label premiered? She's been hearing about her own cruelty and ignorance from the PETA people all this time - you have to be an idiot to:

1. Not have "educated" yourself before using fur extensively in your clothing line

2. Not see all of the gruesome stuff that PETA puts out there - even accidentally see it!!

Does J LOW live under a rock? How self-absorbed!

FUR
By: Shawnta Amanze , Fri, 16 Sep 2005 22:56:54 GMT

I used to think fur was beautiful when I was younger, but now at age 37 I understand the cruelty involved with making them. I would never have one or buy one. They make beautiful fake furs now, so people don't have to wear the real ones, unless they are materialistic.
