HANOI - Angelina Jolie is all set to expand her family by adopting a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy, according to a report in the VNExpress, which is a state-run online publication.
The report quoted Nguyen Van Trung, director of Tam Binh Orphanage as saying that Jolie would be in the city on Thursday to complete the formalities. However the report remains unconfirmed.
Officials said that Jolie could take the boy home by the weekend if she completes all formalities. The first step would be to get the adoption reviewed by US consular officials, who will then issue a passport for the child.
Nguyen Van Trung said the boy in question was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital. He was then brought to the orphanage where he has lived ever since. He added that the boy liked soccer and was very healthy.
Jolie has two adopted kids, son Maddox from Cambodia and daughter Zahara from Ethiopia. She also has a biological child Shiloh Nouvel with Hollywood star Brad Pitt. Shiloh was born last year.
Jolie and Pitt were at the Ho Chi Minh City in November 2006 when they visited the orphanage.
