Kochi, March 7 Songs of 'Maayavi' and 'The Speed Track' rule the charts in Kerala.

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. 'Muttathe mulle' - film: 'Maayavi'; music: Alex Paul; lyrics: Sarath Varma; singers: K.J. Yesudas and Manjari. The film' reign at the box-office is helping its music to stay on top.

2. 'Oru kinnara ganam' - film: 'The Speed Track'; music: Deepak Dev; lyrics: Girish Puthenchery; singers: Udit Narayan and Sujatha. Every Dileep film has to have a song by Udit Narayan. This one has turned into a chart topper.

3. 'Sneham thenalla' - film: 'Maayavi'; music: Alex Paul; lyrics: Sarath Varma; singers: M.G. Sreekumar and G. Venugopal. These days, directors try to incorporate a danceable number in all Mammootty films. This is yet another illustration.

4. 'Paattum padi' - film: 'The Speed Track'; music: Deepak Dev; lyrics: Girish Puthenchery; singer: K.J. Yesudas. The song breaks the monopoly of the Alex Paul-Sarath Varma team on this list.

5. 'Kannu chimmi chimmi' - film: 'Inspector Garud'; music: Alex Paul; lyrics: Sarath Varma; singer: Vineeth Sreenivasan. The songs of this film are on their way out of this list.
