Forty year old actress Sandra Bullock the star of numerous Hollywood films including "Miss Congeniality" married Discovery’s “Monster Garage” star Jesse James, 35 at a California wine country ranch in the picturesque Santa Ynez valley near Santa Barbara on Saturday. Several hundred people attended the sunset ceremony marking the first marriage for Bullock, who was previously engaged to actor Tate Donovan and romantically linked to actor Matthew McConaughey.
The couple arriving in a red monster truck at the Folded Hills Ranch, had kept their marriage plans under wraps even to their guests which included leading actors and actresses, who were shuttled to the ranch and told shortly before the ceremony took place. As they exchanged wedding bands, Bullock wore a vintage ring by Neil Lane and James a ring made by Bullock herself out of steel. The guest list included actors William Shatner, Jamie Lee Curtis and Regina King, and Metallica lead singer James Hetfield.
Bullock, the quintessential good girl in her films, met the tattooed and twice married “distant relative” of a 19th-century outlaw Jesse James, in 2003. The motorcycle mechanic and founder of West Coast Choppers, James was mostly recently married to the adult-film star Janine Lindemulder, has three children from his earlier marriages. Manufacturing high-end motorcycles for a number of celebrity clients, James also is a star of his own right, producing and starring in The Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage”.
The marriage that came as quite a surprise to the industry, comes close to Bullock’s forty first birthday and follows the recent spate of star marriages. A leading actress, Sandra Bullock only recently played the wife of a district-attorney in the film Crash and is now set to take up the real life role of a motor mechanic’s wife.
