Berlin - Zyxel is releasing a new Powerline adapter. The PLA-407 is certified based on the HomePlug AV standard and includes an integrated plug. The device transfers data using a home's own electrical wiring at gross transfer rates of 200 megabits per second. The plug built into the PLA-407 allows another device to use the same wall plug that the adapter itself is using. One individual adapter costs 65 dollars; a two-pack costs 128 dollars.
Nokia releases entry-level cell phone navigator
Berlin - Nokia has announced a new entry-level cell phone that offers navigation functionality. The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition will come into stores in spring 2010 for around 150 dollars. Features include GPD, preinstalled maps and an integrated compass. The cell phone offers navigational guidance for both drivers and pedestrians.
New laptop from ASUS
Berlin - Asus is adding a new model to expand its laptop portfolio: the UL50VT-XO037V with a 15.6 inch display works with a Core 2 Duo processor from Intel. Features include WLAN (n), 4 Gigabytes (GB) of RAM, a card reader, Bluetooth, a 320 GB hard drive and a Nvidia GeForce G210M graphics card with 512 megabytes of memory on board. The unit offers up to twelve hours of battery operation and will cost 900 dollars.
