Baghdad - At least two people were killed and seven wounded in a fresh bombing in a northern suburb of Baghdad on Wednesday morning, police said. The blast occurred near a library in the district of al-Adhamiya, just to the north of the capital, police told the German Press Agency dpa.
It was the third attack on the capital in as many days since the Iraqi parliament passed a law to cover voting in the 2010 elections in a dramatic, late-night session minutes before the midnight deadline Sunday.
On Tuesday, a coordinated series of blasts in the city centre left at least 77 people dead and more than 500 wounded, the Ministry of Health said. Police said more than 120 people had been killed, making the attack one of the bloodiest in Iraq this year.
Following that attack, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said there would likely be changes in the command of the security forces after top security leaders faced the parliament's questions about the attacks.
