Lillehammer, Norway - Tino Edelmann of Germany had the strongest finish on Sunday to claim his first career victory in the Nordic combined skiing World Cup. Placed eighth after the jumping portion, Edelmann pipped title holder Anssi Koivuranta of Finland and French World Cup leader Jason Lamy Chappuis by 2.2 and 2.3 seconds, respectively.
Edelmann, 24, clocked 23 minutes 14.3 seconds for the 10-kilometres cross country pursuit.
The two-time season winner Lamy Chappuis retained the World Cup lead with 305 points from four races. Edelmann moved into second place with 254 and compatriot Eric Frenzel is third with 225 points.
Next weekend's races in Harrachov have been scrapped due to lack of snow but Czech organizers have proposed one event December 16 or 17, with a decision to be reached by Wednesday. The next scheduled events are December 19-20 in Ramsau, Austria.
