Bangkok - Thai shares rose more than 3 per cent Tuesday as investors anticipated a pro-business result from the high court this week regarding industrial estates, stockbrokers said. The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed at 710.01, up 20.94 points, or 3.03 per cent.
"Investors have been taking time out to speculate that the high court will rule this week that a moratorium on investment in industrial estates on the Eastern seaboard can be lifted," Chaiyos Jiwangkul, an analyst at Country Group Securities, said.
"The issue has been weighing on the minds of the business community so positive news will be good for the stock market."
