London - Andy Murray is no longer a couple with girlfriend of four-years Kim Sears, with his management confirming the 21-year- old student has moved from the player's mansion in Surrey back to her parents' home. London media Monday quoted friends as saying the quiet rift began around the US Open last August. Sears, daughter of noted coach Nigel Sears, did not attend last week's ATP season wrapup, in which Murray played but failed to reach the semi-finals.
"No one else is involved," a friend of the former couple told British tabloids. "Both Andy and Kim are saddened that the relationship is over, but they mutually felt it was time for them to part.
"They are both very young, and it is not unusual for young people to split up.
"There were no blazing rows, or anything like that. Kim left Andy's house under amicable circumstances. They are still in contact with one another and remain good friends."
Murray had to call on his mother, Judy, this week to help him with his new household duties, with the pair pictured Monday emerging from a supermarket carrying loo rolls and cleaning supplies for his 8- million-dollar suburban mansion.
Murray only recently hinted that Kim was his rock. "Tennis is important to me, but it's not the most important thing. My family and friends are more important. The job obviously matters, but what goes on off the court is bigger."
Sears reportedly did Murray's laundry and drove him in a Mercedes before he got his permit last summer. She also occasionally cut his hair, tabloids suggest.
