Washington - Golf luminary Tiger Woods was injured Friday in a car accident at his home near Orlando, Florida, but it was not clear how serious his injuries were. A police report from the Florida Highway Patrol indicated Woods had suffered serious injuries, according to Fox News and the Orlando Sentinel.
But Gary Bruhn, mayor of Windermere, Florida, whose said his police force alsoresponded to the accident report, told CNN that Woods had suffered only "facial lacerations."
"He was taken to Health Central Hospital where he was treated and then released," Bruhntold CNN. "Basically it was facial lacerations and as I am understanding it nothing that serious."
State police troopers told local media that Woods' car, a 2009 Escalade, first hit a fire hydrant as he was leaving his driveway and then a tree on his neighbour's property.
The accident happened at 2 am Friday morning outside his residence in Isleworth, Florida, but was not reported until 2 pm Friday afternoon, the Sentinel reported.
Woods, 33, was reportedly taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, according to Fox News and the Orlando Sentinel.
But John Richards, the security supervisor at the hospital, told German Press Agency
