Colombo - Four Air Force personnel were killed Friday when a Russian-built Mi-24 Air Force helicopter crashed in south-eastern Sri Lanka, an Air Force spokesman said. The accident occurred in Badalkumbura, 310 kilometres south-east of Colombo after an air display to mark the start of construction work of a new international airport.
According to the spokesman, the crash had been caused by a technical fault. Four people, including the pilot, were killed when the helicopter crashed into a hill.
