Gaza/Tel Aviv - Four Palestinians were injured Friday in Israeli shelling at the northern Gaza Strip refugee camp of Jabaliya, near the border with Israel, local Hamas sources said. One of the injured was in serious condition, they said.
They said the shelling was a response to mortar shells fired Thursday night at the border fence area by Palestinian militants.
An Israeli military spokeswoman in Tel Aviv, however, could not immediately confirm Israeli involvement and said she was checking the report.
