Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian police have detained an Indonesian woman who was found in the same flat as a man who was brutally killed and had his genitals severed, news reports said Thursday. The victim, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was found sprawled in a pool of blood with his genitals next to his body, the Star daily said.
The deceased also had multiple wounds to his body.
Police from the northern state of Penang raided the apartment after receiving complaints from neighbours late Tuesday, said district acting police chief Mohan Singh.
"We have yet to determine the relationship between the man and the woman.
"We are also checking whether there was a quarrel between the two or if there was involvement of a third party," said Mohan.
He said the woman, who was injured, was detained for questioning, adding that a broken window pane was believed to have been the murder weapon.
