Stockholm - The Swedish presidency of the European Union Wednesday condemned the massacre of more than 50 people earlier this week in the southern Philippines. Sweden, holder of the rotating presidency of the 27-nation bloc, said it was confident authorities would "do their utmost to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice without delay."
The massacre took place Monday in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao province, 930 kilometres south of Manila.
Among the victims were two dozen journalists covering a group that was to file the certificate of candidacy of a vice mayor for Maguindanao governor in elections next year.
