Moscow - Volkswagen subsidiary Audi has started assembling cars in Russia, Itar-Tass news agency quoted the company as saying on Monday. Models A4, A5 and Q5 will be rolling off the production lines at VW's plant in Kalgua, the report said. Q7 and A6 models will follow in January 2010, it added.

Volkswagen began producing Tiguan and Skoda Octavia models at the

plant in October. Total output in Kaluga is expected to reach 150,000 vehicles annually from 2010.

Germany's biggest carmaker began assembling cars in Russia in November 2007. since then it has more than doubled its market share from 3.2 per cent to 6.6 per cent.
