Rome - Veteran stars Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti lead a pack of Serie A footballers ready to return after long injury lay-offs. When the league resumes Saturday after a round of international games, Juventus captain Del Piero, 35, hopes to play against visiting Udinese in the weekend's closing game late Sunday.
Del Piero struggled with muscular troubles since the start of the season, but is now available to vie for a spot upfront with Brazilian Amauri, Frenchman David Trezeguet, while international Vincenzo Iaquinta is sidelined at the moment.
"If we are many (strikers) it is better," Del Piero said. "Am I uncertain if I will play? I must think about being well physically. I have no worries of this kind."
