New York - Martin Nesirky, a British national and former Reuters correspondent, was Tuesday appointed spokesman for United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Nesirky will replace Michelle Montas, a former journalist from Haiti, next month. Montas has held the post since January 2007.
The UN said Nesirky was a spokesman for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, in Vienna for the past three years and was a Reuters reporter and editor for 20 years.
