Beirut - Hezbollah chief Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah vowed Wednesday that if Israel attacked Lebanon, all the Lebanese will together defend their nation. "Israel has to understand that if it launches a war on Lebanon, all the Lebanese will together defend their nation," Nasrallah said in a speech to mark his movement's Martyr Day in Beirut's southern suburbs.
"I vow in the name of the martyrs, that the whole world can send as many divisions as they want, you can send the entire Israeli army, and we will destroy it in our mountains," Nasrallah said.
"We will destroy their tanks. Yes, we are capable of destroying their troops as well," he vowed.
The Hezbollah leader said that his major concern this month was the forming of the new Lebanese cabinet and stressed that the new government served Hezbollah's interests and those of Lebanon.
Nasrallah said anything can be discussed among the Lebanese rival factions through national dialogue.
"We want for the government to be a government of national cooperation and national coherence," he said.
His speech came two days after Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced a national unity government of 30 members, comprised of 15 ministers loyal to the Western-backed majority, 10 for the Hezbollah- led opposition and five loyal to president Michel Suleiman.
