Stockholm to screen "ice movies"Stockholm - To mark the 20th anniversary of Stockholm's International Film Festival organisers have decided to use a screen made of ice at one of the festival's outdoor events. The screen will be 3.5 by 4.8 metres in size, according to the country's tourist board. A total of 170 movies from 40 countries are being show in the Swedishcapital from November 18 to 29. Ayers Rock gets new viewing platform
Sydney - Visitors to Australia's landmark Uluru, or Ayers Rock as it also known, can now watch the sunrise from a new platform. The platform has space for up to 3,000 people and replaces an older terrace that was too small. The new platform is also designed to be more environmentally friendly towards surrounding vegetation. Denmark opens large aviary
Copenhagen - Denmark is an attraction richer with the opening of the largest aviary in northern Europe. The aviary is located in the city of Odense on the island of Funen and is 100-metres-long and 16-metres-wide. Among the breeds of bird on show are 30 flamingos and 20 pelican. Visitor centre opens at Sydney Harbour Bridge
Sydney - A new visitor centre has opened in Sydney that charts the history of the landmark Harbour Bridge with an interactive exhibition. Among the pieces of information guests learn is how the bridge got its nickname of "The Coat Hanger." The centre in The Rocks district is also the starting point for three separate bridge tours. Two of the tours take 3.5 hours while the new Express Climb, which takes visitors to the bridge's highest point, takes two hours and 15 minutes. (www.bridgeclimb.com)
