Abu Dhabi - Rubens Barrichello and Nico Huelkenberg will be the Williams driver pairing in 2010, the British Formula One team confirmed Monday. The Brazilian Barrichello moves from Brawn GP after finishing third in the overall drivers' standings this season while Germany's Huelkenberg makes the step up from the GP2 Series which he won this year in his rookie season.

"Rubens needs no introduction. He is not only the most experienced driver in Formula One, but a passionate and talented driver who fought hard for the drivers' championship this year," said Williams team principal Frank Williams.

"Nico Huelkenberg won the GP2 Championship this season as a rookie and has previously won the F3 Euroseries, Formula Masters, A1 GP and Formula BMW Germany."

Barrichello is the most experienced driver in F1 with a record 284 starts and enjoyed a successful season that brought two race wins.

The 22-year-old Huelkenberg, meanwhile, has impressed in his debut season in GP2 and has also been a Williams test driver since 2008.

"He won GP2 and managed more victories than Lewis Hamilton," the driver's manager Willi Weber told German Press Agency dpa, adding that the German has agreed a two-year deal with an option for a further year.

The pair replace Nico Rosberg, who is believed to be on his way to Brawn, and Kazuki Nakajima, who is without a drive for next season.
