Madrid - Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claimed on Sunday that coach Manuel Pellegrini will continue on the Real bench "until the end of the season."Perez told Italian television channel RAI2, in a telephone interview, that "in the newspapers have appeared the names of good coaches (to take over from Pellegrini). But we are happy with Pellegrini and we are sure that he will finish the season positively."

He added that "you have to have patience," that "Real Madrid will have a marvellous season" and that his dream was "to play the final of the Champions League against AC Milan."

Real face Milan on Tuesday in San Siro, having lost to the Italians 3-2 at home two weeks ago.

According to the Spanish media, Perez was keen to fire Pellegrini after Tuesday's 4-0 cup humiliation away to part-timers Alcorcon, but was persuaded against doing so by general director Jorge Valdano.

Saturday's 2-0 home win over Getafe has given the Chilean coach a little breathing space, at the same time as taking Real within one point of leaders Barcelona.
