Tokyo - Japanese stocks lost ground in Tuesday morning trading, undermined by falls on Wall Street and lower commodity prices. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average fell 151.77 points, or 1.46 per cent, to stand at 10,210.85.
The broader-based Topix index also lost 17.37 points, or 1.91 per cent, to stand at 893.35.
On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 92.19-21 yen, up from 91.83-85 yen in late trading Monday.
The euro traded at 1.4860-62 dollars, down from 1.5035-36 dollars, and at 136.98-137.02 yen, down from 138.07-11 yen.
