Vienna - Nicole Hosp on Moday turned her attention to the next world championships in 2011, two days after the current Olympic season ended for the Austrian skier in injury agony. "It happened. I will make sure that I return stronger for my 'home worlds' in Garmisch in 2011," the Austrian Press Agency APA quoted Hosp as telling a news conference at a clinic in Innsbruck.
Hosp, 25, lives not far away from the German venue of Garmisch-Partenkirchen across the border.
Hosp's Olympic dream ended little over 20 seconds into the season-opening World Cup giant slalom race on Saturday in Soelden when she ruptured the cruciate ligament in her right knee.
Hosp underwent surgery the same day and will miss the entire season highlighted by the Vancouver Olympics in February. She admitted that "it hurts" to miss the Games but said also said "I hope to be healthy at the (2014) Olympics in four years time."
Doctors said that Hosp was recovering well, has started the first rehabilitation measures and can leave the clinic on Tuesday.
