Tokyo - Japanese stocks lost ground in Thursday morning trading, dragged down by falls on Wall Street. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 122.61 points, or 1.19 per cent, to stand at 10,210.78.

The broader-based Topix index also fell 12.02 points, or 1.31 per cent, to stand at 901.68.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 90.86-88 yen, up from 90.69-72 yen in late trading Wednesday.

The euro traded at 1.5013-18 dollars, up from 1.4954-57 dollars, and at 136.41-42 yen, up from 135.65-69 yen.
