London - British pop singer Robbie Williams thrilled audiences with a confident "comeback show" at the London Roundhouse theatre where some 3,000 fans treated him as a hero, reports said Wednesday. Williams, more used to performing in stadiums, admitted to nerves as he kicked off the show late Tuesday.

"It's a bit nerve-wracking - first gig for three years," he said. "Thank you for making me feel comfortable."

At first, it looked as if much-discussed stage fright might get the better of him at the Roundhouse too during Tuesday night's show, the BBC said.

His first two songs, the new tracks Bodies and Morning Sun, seemed stiff and unsure. But the third track, Come Undone, was the first old tune, prompting fans to sing along in full voice.

"He looked like he absolutely loved it, so if he was nervous he hid it really well," said a fan.
